While everyone's eyes are on the IPL 2025 auction, just a day before this auction, India's biggest domestic T20 tournament has started. We are talking about Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in which the power of Yuzvendra Chahal and Abhishek Sharma was seen on the very first day. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami was badly beaten. First of all, we talked about Yuzvendra Chahal, who, while playing for Haryana, wove such a web of spin that the opposition team kept watching Manipur. Chahal took 4 wickets for just 9 runs against this team.
Yuzvendra Chahal bowled 16 dot balls in 4 overs against Manipur and he eliminated a total of 4 top order and middle order batsmen. Due to this bowling of Chahal, Manipur team collapsed for just 86 runs. In reply, Haryana won the match in just 40 balls. For Haryana, Rahul Tewatia scored unbeaten 43 runs in 16 balls.
Abhishek Sharma's brilliance was seen against Bengal. This batsman was seen batting in a stormy style. He also hit a six in the over of fast bowler Mohammed Shami. But Sharma was out after scoring 18 runs in 8 balls. After this, Abhishek showed his bowling prowess and took 3 wickets. Abhishek, who bowled at number two, took 3 wickets in 4 balls. He missed the hat-trick. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami got a severe beating in the match. He gave away 46 runs for one wicket in 4 overs.
Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Verma also scored brilliant centuries on the first day of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 130 runs in 57 balls against Goa. Before Iyer, Tilak Verma, playing for Hyderabad, scored 151 runs in 67 balls against Meghalaya. Tilak Verma is the first batsman in T20 history to score a century in three consecutive matches. Tilak had scored two centuries in the T20 match against South Africa and now he scored a hat-trick of centuries in T20 by scoring a century against Meghalaya also.
