Gujarat Titans won a close game against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2024. The Shubman Gil-led team needed 75 runs from the last 5 overs, with the captain back in the dugout after scoring 72. Rajasthan was declared an outright winner by now, but the lower middle order of the Titans had different plans. Shahrukh Khan, who came to bat as an impact substitute, amassed 14 runs off 8 balls, laced with a four and six. His runs came at a strike rate of 175.
His short but impactful knock brought Gujarat back into the game. Rahul Tewatia was then joined by Rashid Khan, and the two didn’t look back and won the contest. Rahul amassed 22 off 11 balls before he was run out. However, Rashid kept his cool and hit a boundary off the match’s last ball to take his team to an emphatic win.
Rashid was named the Player of the Match, and Gill praised him and Tewatia for their batting. He forgot to mention GT debutant Shahrukh. However, Navjot Singh Sidhu knew what Shahrukh did and said that the young batter played the most crucial knock in the context of the game.
