Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta is hoping to see Virat Kohli find his combative attitude back during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He gave the examples of Cristiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, claiming that legendary athletes find ways to return to form.
Despite his rough patch in Test cricket in recent series, Kohli is still a prized scalp for Australia in the five-Test series. The right-handed batter has scored 1352 runs at an average of 54.08 in 13 Tests in Australia.
“We have seen him giving his best when things are not going his way. He is in hbat mind space where he wants to prove everyone wrong,” Deep Dasgupta told the Times of India.
“Great players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods, or Michael Jordan have thrived to prove their doubters wrong on the field. I hope Virat finds that mental zone as it is needed to score runs in Australia,” be added.
Dasgupta mentioned that the conditions in Australia will suit Virat Kohli’s batting style, giving him a chance to turn his form around.
“He didn’t had a good Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand. But he is a great player and knows how to comeback to form. He has a great track record in Australia and he likes batting in this part of the world. The pitches would suit his batting.”
