Uthappa said on GeoCinema, 'I think they should look at Rajat Patidar to take over that role because it seems you need a new captain after two years. Rajat Patidar has played a total of 27 matches in IPL so far. In these matches he has scored 799 runs at an average of 34.73. Rajat Patidar also has 7 half-centuries and 1 century in his name in IPL. He scored this century against Lucknow in the eliminator match of IPL 2022. Apart from this, Rajat Patidar has also played 3 test matches and 1 ODI match for Team India. In the Test, he scored only 63 runs at an average of 10.50, whereas in the ODI, he played an inning of 22 runs. Although he has not played a single T20 match for Team India yet.
