Clouds of crisis are still looming over the organization of the Champions Trophy to be held in February-March 2025. Due to the India-Pakistan dispute, ICC has not yet announced the schedule of this tournament. In view of the poor relations between India and Pakistan and the security threat in Pakistan, the Indian government has refused to send Team India on a tour to the neighboring country. In such a situation, there is a demand to conduct this tournament on hybrid model. Amidst all this, Pakistan has suffered a big setback. Another Indian team has decided not to go to Pakistan.
Pakistan is also going to host the Blind T20 World Cup before the Champions Trophy. The Ministry of External Affairs has not given permission to the Indian team to go to Pakistan for the Blind T20 World Cup. In such a situation, the blind Indian cricket team has withdrawn its name from the World Cup. Let us tell you, the Indian blind team had got the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Sports Ministry for this tournament, but the Indian team also needed the approval of the Home Ministry and the External Affairs Ministry to go to Pakistan, which was not received.
According to media reports, Indian Blind Cricket Association (IBCA) General Secretary Shailendra Yadav has said that the Ministry of External Affairs has not given permission to go to Pakistan and has asked to withdraw from the tournament. Yadav also said that he has not yet received the letter from the government not giving official approval because it was told orally.
Blind T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 will be hosted by Pakistan from 23 November to 3 December. This is the fourth edition of this tournament. Before this, there have been three seasons of Blind T20 Cricket World Cup and the Indian team has won all three. The Indian team had won this title by defeating Pakistan in 2012 and 2017. At the same time, in 2022, the Indian team defeated Bangladesh in the final.
