IPL Auction most expensive Players: IPL auction has always been a favorite event of cricket fans. In this, many players reach the heights by getting huge sums of money. It has been seen many times that a player about whom most of the fans do not even know, earns crores of rupees. The most expensive player sold so far in the history of IPL auction is Mitchell Starc. Kolkata Knight Riders gave him Rs 24.75 crore to play in IPL 2024. Another Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is at second place in this list.

In the auction held for the last season, Pat Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a record price of Rs 20.50 crore. However, RCB had a big role in getting Cummins such a huge amount. Because of that, SRH had to spend so much money to buy Cummins.

SRH suffered huge loss due to RCB

Actually, the base price of Pat Cummins in the auction held for the last season was Rs 2 crore. When his name was bid, the first race to buy Cummins started between the teams of Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians did not increase their bid above Rs 4 crore 60 lakh. After this the RCB team joined the race. CSK also dropped out of the race after bidding Rs 7.60 crore.

After this SRH took entry. The RCB franchise knew that Hyderabad wanted to buy Cummins at any cost, that is why they deliberately kept increasing the bid on Cummins. Gradually the bid crossed Rs 20 crores. No one expected that such a big bid would be placed on Cummins. Eventually, RCB made a move by not going ahead with the bid after Rs 20.25 crore and Cummins became a part of the SRH team after getting Rs 20.50 crore.

Hyderabad had appointed Cummins as the captain of their team last season and under his leadership the team performed brilliantly and was successful in reaching the finals. But the team had missed out on winning the trophy. For the upcoming season, Hyderabad has retained Cummins with them for Rs 18 crores.
