The circus of Pakistan cricket is not coming to an end. There is chaos once again in the Pakistan Cricket Board, which has changed many captains and coaches in the last one year. A report has claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board is going to remove the team's head coach Jason Gillespie. Gillespie was made the head coach of Pakistan's Test team, while during the recent Australia tour, he was also given the responsibility for the ODI and T20 series. After the arrival of this report, now the Pakistani board has issued a statement calling it wrong and has said that Gillespie will remain the coach of the team in the next Test series also.
On Sunday, November 17, a report by ESPN-Cricinfo claimed that the Pakistani board was once again going to make changes in the coaching and was going to remove Gillespie as the head coach of all formats. It was reported in the report that Gillespie's tenure will end with the third T20 match against Australia on Monday, November 18 and in his place, former fast bowler and selection committee convener Aaqib Javed will take over the responsibility.
Now the Pakistani board has issued a statement on social media denying these reports. PCB said in its statement that as per the earlier announcement, Jason Gillespie will be coaching the Pakistani team for the 2nd red ball matches (Test matches) against South Africa. The Pakistani team will go to South Africa next month for a 2-Test series, where the first Test match will start from 26 December. However, the Pakistani board did not say whether Gillespie would remain the head coach of the team only till this series or whether he would remain with the team even after this.
PCB strongly refutes the story. As announced previously, Jason Gillespie will continue to coach the Pakistan side for the two red-ball matches against South Africa. https://t.co/J5MYKuq368

PCB had appointed Jason Gillespie as the coach of the Test team in May this year, while Gary Kirsten was given the responsibility of the ODI and T20 teams. But last month itself, Kirsten resigned after a dispute with the board. In such a situation, the board had entrusted the responsibility of coaching to Gillespie for the ODI and T20 series on the Australia tour. According to the report of Cricinfo, PCB wanted Gillespie to remain the coach of the team in the Champions Trophy as well but in return it was not ready to increase his salary by changing his contract. The report claims that after this Gillespie had rejected the offer, which the PCB did not like and the board had decided to remove Gillespie completely.
