James Anderson has given his name for the IPL 2025 mega auction, his first try since 2012. The veteran has been shortlisted for the two-day event. His first try was not fruitful in 2012, as the franchise didn’t show any interest in him back then.
Following that episode, he stayed away from the league for 12 years. After retiring from international cricket, the speedster has decided to enter the bidding battle.
South African legend Herschelle Gibbs reacted to Anderson’s shortlisting and said that he is also ready to participate in the auction at 50.
“I see @jimmy9 is up for grabs in the @ipl mega auction… should I join him,” he wrote on X.
Gibbs represented the Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league. He was a part of Deccan Chargers from IPL 2008 to 2010. He played three games for Mumbai Indians in 2012.
James Anderson has kept his price price at INR 1.25 crore. A franchise looking for a bowling mentor can bid for him. Anderson played 44 T20 matches, taking 41 wickets.
The IPL 2025 mega-auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. The BCCI has shortlisted 574 players who will be auctioned.
