Delhi Capitals (DC) were the team who had retained him before the IPL 2022 mega-auctions, and retained him for a couple of seasons. Since Shaw is a capped player and has appeared in all three formats, a lot of people expect him to register his name for the mega-auctions at the highest base price.
Prithvi has set his base price at Rs. 75 lakh. Shaw is one f the fastest batter in Indian cricket to this day, and can single-handedly win matches when he is in his complete form. A few teams are expected to place high bids for him in the mega-auction.
Prithvi had struggled in IPL 2020, and could only manage to score 228 runs at an average of 17.53. He had a strong strike in IPL 2021 as he gained back his form and strongly scored 479 runs.
He played 8 matches and scored 106 runs in IPL 2023, followed up by 198 runs in IPL 2024. He was expected to be released before the mega-auctions of the IPL 2025, but now will be a part of an auction for the first time since 2018.
