Virat Kohli is the most famous cricketer in the world. He is always in the news, even if he is not playing. Kohli has amassed 316 runs in five matches of the Indian Premier League 2024. His runs have come at a strike rate of 146.29, with the help of two fifties and a hundred. Despite leading the run charts, the veteran has faced criticism for his strike rate. The right-handed batter slammed a century off 67 balls against Rajasthan Royals. It was the joint slowest in the history of the tournament.
Kohli hasn’t won an IPL title to date. The legendary cricketer has played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru since the first season, but the trophy has eluded him. He has been among the runs in most seasons, but others have let him down. The same is happening in the ongoing season, with RCB losing four out of given matches so far.
Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu lauded Kohli but highlighted the only blot on his illustrious career. “Virta Kohli is the King but not Shahenshah, as he hasn’t won an IPL title. He will have to lift the trophy first to become a Shahenshah.
“He has been scoring runs for RCB for ages but his teammates haven’t done anything. He is the only one performing in IPL 2024 and the remaining ten are just comeing to the field to play matches. Kohli can’t win a title single-handedly,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
