The countdown for the mega auction of IPL 2025 has started, for which a total of 574 players have been shortlisted. Among those short list names are also those 5 players who have impressed with their performance. Leave it behind, it was only after being shortlisted for the IPL auction that their true attitude and their true form was visible in each and every match that they played. Those five players are not cricket celebrities but tsunamis. Now you must be wondering who are all those players? Some of them are all-rounders, some are batsmen and some are bowlers. Let's take a look at those 5 players who are making waves and who are being talked about a lot.
Spencer Johnson: This Australian fast bowler, after his name appeared in the list of shortlisted players for the IPL 2025 auction on 15 November, played a T20 match against Pakistan on 16 November and did something which he had not done before in his T20 International career. He gave the best performance of his T20 International career. Spencer Johnson lost 5 wickets for just 26 runs in the second match of the home T20 series against Pakistan. Meaning, he single-handedly appeared to be overpowering the Pakistan team. Due to his amazing performance, Australia not only won but also caught the attention of IPL franchise owners. Spencer Johnson was with Gujarat Titans last season for Rs 10 crore. But, this time the franchise released him.
Jacob Bethel: This 21 year old all-rounder from England is also in tremendous form. Bethwell has scored 2 half-centuries in the last 4 innings of T20 International. After being shortlisted for IPL 2025, Jacob Bethwell played against West Indies, in which he played an unbeaten inning of 62 runs on 32 balls. Bethel's strike rate in T20 is above 142. Jacob Bethel has kept his base price at Rs 1.25 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025.
Phil Salt: If Bethel is a middle order batsman, then Phil Salt is England's opener and is known for his aggressive nature. Phil Salt, who has a strike rate of more than 155 in T20, has scored one century and 1 half-century in his last 4 T20 innings.
Evin Lewis: Things were not going easy for this Caribbean opener. But the form woke up as soon as the name appeared in the final list of IPL 2025 auction. Evin Lewis scored runs at a strike rate of 219.35 in the match played against England on 16 November. He scored 68 runs on 31 balls and played a role in the team's victory.
Shay Hope: Another West Indies batsman Shay Hope has also returned to form after being shortlisted for the IPL 2025 auction. In the match where Evin Lewis scored 68 runs, Shay Hope also scored 54 runs at a strike rate of 227 off just 24 balls. Score runs. If Hope maintains his form then crores of rupees may rain on him on 24th and 25th November.
