3 Oldest players shortlist for IPL 2025 Mega Auction:
The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. Along with India, players from many other countries of the world had also registered for this mega event. However, 574 players have been shortlisted for the auction. Many big players like Joffra Archer have not been shortlisted.
In the mega auction, a lot of money is going to be showered on young as well as experienced players. In this article, we will discuss about the 3 oldest players who have been shortlisted for the IPL 2025 mega auction.
South Africa's experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has been shortlisted for the mega auction. However, his performance is no longer the same. He is failing to contribute with the ball as well as the bat. Nabi was a part of Mumbai Indians in the last season of IPL. He got to play 7 matches, in which he was able to take only two wickets and score 35 runs in batting.
Faf du Plessis is counted among those players whose record in IPL has been very good. In this tournament, Du Plessis has played 145 matches and scored 4571 runs with the help of 37 half-centuries. This right-handed player was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in IPL 2024 and also performed well with the bat. But despite this the franchise did not decide to retain him. Du Plessis's performance has been tremendous recently, hence many franchises will definitely target him in the mega auction.
James Anderson, one of the best Test pacers on the cricket field, has shown interest in participating in the IPL for the first time in his career. He has taken this step after retiring from Test cricket earlier this year. Anderson finished his red-ball career with 704 wickets in 188 matches. This right-arm fast bowler last played a T20 match in 2014. He has taken a total of 41 wickets in 44 T20 matches, with his best performance being 3/23.
(Note: We have added the players' age as of November 15, 2024.)
