Australia Test opener Usman Khawaja recently mentioned that Virat Kohli has changed and doesn’t get involved in on-the-field battles. The veteran opener still considers him a threat for the hosts in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.
Kohli was the most targeted cricket player in Australia due to his outspoken nature and habit of taking on rival players. He showed a middle finger to the crowd during the Sydney Test in 2012. On the next tour, he led the team and was involved in arguments with David Warner and Mitchell Johnson.
He also didn’t share a good bond with Steve Smith in the early years of their rivalry. a
“Virat Kohli has changed now, and now you can go and joke with him. But he still scores runs against us,” Usman Khawaja told cricket.com.au.
Virat Kohli has been hogging all the moonlight since landing in Australia for the upcoming matches. However, he is not in form and scored just 93 runs in six innings against New Zealand. In the last five years, he has amassed just three hundreds.
The first Test between India and Australia will start on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
