However, after that, the momentum shifted firmly in Rajasthan's favor. Gujarat Titans struggled to take another wicket, allowing
Rajasthan Royals to build a substantial partnership. As of now, Rajasthan Royals have reached 162 for 2 after 18 overs, with Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson forming a partnership worth 120 runs.
In the 17th over, bowled by Mohit Sharma, a wide call against Gujarat Titans sparked Shubman Gill's frustration. The incident occurred when the final delivery of the over, a slower ball outside the off stump, was deemed wide by the on-field umpire.
Sanju Samson attempted a shot but missed, with the ball narrowly avoiding contact with his bat. Despite the umpire's call, Shubman Gill chose to challenge the decision by opting for the Decision Review System (DRS).
Initially, the third umpire ruled that since Sanju Samson moved across, the line also moved, resulting in a non-wide delivery. However, the decision was swiftly reversed, and the on-field umpire was instructed to stick with the original call of wide.
Shubman Gill was visibly angered by this decision and approached the umpire to express his frustration. Despite his protestations, the wide call stood, adding to Gill's displeasure with the situation.
