Delhi: India's acting head coach VVS Laxman has praised the fearless performance of the Indian team in the T20 series against South Africa. He said that the support the team receives abroad boosts the confidence of the players. India is currently leading 2-1 in the four-match series and the last match will be played on Friday at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

At an event organized in honor of the Indian team on Thursday night, Laxman said, “In the last three matches, the team has played fearlessly, when we play abroad, our aim is to entertain the audience. “We always feel as if we are playing at home.”

He further said, “The big reason for this is the support of Indian fans all over the world. The heavy presence of blue in the stadium shows how dedicated our supporters are.”

Captain Suryakumar Yadav also described meeting the Indian people on this tour as special. He said, “It is always a pleasant experience to meet the Indian community while playing abroad. “It feels like we are playing at home.”

Why is Johannesburg very special for Team India?

It is noteworthy that Wanderers Stadium has special significance for the Indian team. This is the ground where India won the first T20 World Cup by defeating Pakistan in 2007. In the last T20 series, captain Suryakumar Yadav led Team India to victory by scoring a century in Johannesburg. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar, India has won 13 out of 16 matches and this time he intends to return home after winning the series. The last series was a 1-1 draw, while one match was lost due to rain.
