Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane's fortunes have changed recently as Team India selectors are considering including them in the squad for the upcoming Australia tour. This decision was taken mainly due to the recent poor form, especially after the failure of backup opener Abhimanyu, which has increased the chances of Pujara getting a chance. 2. Sarfaraz Khan

For the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played between India and Australia (IND vs AUS), Ajinkya Rahane can be included in the team in place of Sarfaraz Khan to increase experience in the middle order. The legendary right-handed batsman has been one of the most prominent batsmen of Team India. He played his last Test match for India against West Indies in July 2023 and has not returned to the team since then. Rahane is one of those batsmen who bats very well against spin.
