Delhi: In the third T20 International match played at Super Sports Park in Centurion on Wednesday, Team India defeated South Africa by 11 runs and took an unassailable 2-1 lead in the 4-match series. Batting first, India scored 219 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of a brilliant century by star batsman Tilak Verma. In reply, the South African team could score only 208 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. With this victory, Team India achieved a special achievement, which till now was only in the name of Pakistan in the history of T20I cricket.

With this victory in Centurion, the blue jersey team made a record of winning 100 T20I matches on foreign soil, which till now only Pakistan could do in the world. Pakistan has won 116 out of 203 matches on foreign soil, while India has won 100 times in 152 matches.

India reached second place

India is now at second place among the teams that have won the most T20I matches on foreign soil. Afghanistan is at third position, which has registered 84 wins in 138 matches. At the same time, 2021 T20 World Cup champion Australia is at fourth position with 71 wins in 137 matches and England is at fifth position with 67 wins in 129 matches.
