India defeated South Africa by 11 runs in the third T20I to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series. The final contest will be played at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
Tilak Varma was the star of the show with the bat as the 22-year-old amassed his maiden international century against the hosts. The Men In Blue posted 219/6 in 20 overs.
Arshdeep Singh was the best bowler as the left-arm seamer took three wickets. Arshdeep became Team India’s highest wicket-taker among the speedsters, going past Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.
He has picked up 92 wickets in the shortest format of the game and is four wickets away from equalling Yuzvendra Chahal’s numbers, who is India’s leading wicket-taker in this format. Arshdeep was not retained by Punjab Kings for IPL 2025 and he might trigger a bidding war among the franchises in IPL 2025 mega auction.
Arshdeep dismissed Ryan Rickelton, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen and didn’t allow South Africa batters to complete the chase in the final over.
Jansen accumulated a sensational fifty but he failed to complete the task. Arshdeep enjoys bowling with Jasprit Bumrah.
“I have enjoyed bowling with Jasprit bhai. He has helped me to take wickets by building pressure on the rivals. I attack the batters in the opening phase and death overs,” he said.
