Latest News :- Voting will be held on 43 seats today in the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections. There are total 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress are ruling India. JMM party leader Hemant Soran is the Chief Minister. The tenure of this legislature is going to end soon. After this, the Chief Election Commission announced that Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases on 13 and 20 November. According to this, voting will be held on 43 seats in the first phase today. The election campaign on these 43 seats was completed yesterday evening.

Following this, the Election Commission has made necessary arrangements for peaceful voting in 43 constituencies. In such a situation, yesterday morning the election officials left for the polling centers with electronic voting machines. A total of 685 candidates are in the fray in 43 constituencies. Additional police, army and paramilitary forces have been deployed for security at the tense polling stations. Voting will start at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. Counting of votes will be done on November 23 and results will be declared. There are total 2.6 crore candidates in Jharkhand. Male voters are 1.31 crore and female voters are 1.29 crore. 11.84 lakh voters are going to vote for the first time.

15,344 polling stations have been set up for voting. Of these, 12,716 polling stations have been set up in rural areas and 2,628 polling stations have been set up in urban areas. State Election Officer K. Ravikumar has announced that 1,152 polling stations will be managed by women. Senior leader Sambhai Soran, who joined BJP from JMM, is contesting from Seraikela constituency. There is a tough competition going on between the India Alliance and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. Wayanad by-election: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who contested from Rae Bareli and Wayanad seats in the last Lok Sabha elections, has made his Wayanad seat an MP. He has resigned from the post. He will continue to be MP from Rae Bareli constituency.

There will be by-elections here. This has become important because the party's national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting the elections on behalf of Congress. Here, Priyanka is contesting from Congress, Satyan Mokheri from the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala and Navya Haridas from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. By-elections will be held in Karnataka for 3 assembly seats Shikkon, Sandur and Chennapatna. Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, is contesting from the secular Janata Dal in Chennapatna.
