India will start their five-match Test series against Australia on November 22 in Perth. After a 0-3 defeat against New Zealand, the sub-continent team is hoping to bounce back Down Under. The Optus Stadium will host the series opener, and the game will clash with the IPL 2025 mega auction, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25.

According to a report by the Australian newspaper ‘The Age, Australia’s assistant coach, Daniel Vettori, will miss the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 as he will attend the IPL 2025 mega auction.

He is the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad and will be present with the other franchise management staff.

He doesn’t have a full-time contract with the Aussies, and his presence is required for a specific time. This has allowed him to work with Australia, SRH in IPL, and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.

Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer, who will be working as commentators in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, will also miss their stints for some days in order to be with Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively.

Ponting is the head coach of PBKS, while Langer is the head of the support staff at LSG.
