Arjun Tendulkar, who is playing for Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, bowled a sensational bowling spell against Arunachal Pradesh in the Plate Division match at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday. The left-arm speedster took a five-wicket haul as the rivals were bowled out for 84 in their first innings.
He registered a bowling figure of 5/25 in 9 overs, sending back Neelam Obi, Nabam Hachang, Chinmay Patil, Jay Bhavsar, and Moji Ete. He was unplayable, and the top-order batters had no answer to his variations.
Arunachal skipper Nabam Abo’s won the toss and decided to bat first, a decision that back-fired as Arjun was spotted from the first over. Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Mark Pinto (2/31) supported Arjun, and Arunachal’s first innings lasted for 30.3 overs.
The 25-year-old all-rounder is trying hard to make his performance count. He left Mumbai and joined Goa last year to get more time. Before the contest against Arunachal, Arjun picked up 32 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 37.75.
Arjun, the son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, has alerted the franchises before the IPL 2025 mega auction, which will take place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. He was recently released by five-time champions Mumbai Indians after four years. In five matches for MI, he took three wickets at an economy rate of 9.37.
