Many teams need a captain in IPL 2025. Virat Kohli's team Royal Challengers Bengaluru needs a captain for IPL 2025, because the franchise has released its captain Faf Du Plessis.
According to media reports, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team is considering two names for its captain, the franchise is ready to spend Rs 30 crore to buy one of these two. According to media reports, RCB is eyeing Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, the franchise wants to include one of these two in the team as a wicketkeeper batsman and make him the captain.
Even before the retained list of IPL 2025 came out, there was news that the franchise is in contact with these two, on one hand KL Rahul had expressed his desire to play for RCB, while on the other hand Rishabh Pant had expressed his desire to play for RCB. Had expressed strong objection to this matter by posting on social media. However, now if media reports are to be believed, one of these two can be seen playing IPL 2025 for RCB.
When the retained list of all the teams came for IPL 2025, RCB released all its big players and retained only 3 Indian players, in which Virat Kohli was retained by the franchise by paying Rs 21 crore. Whereas the franchise has given Rs 11 crore to Rajat Patidar. The franchise has retained one uncapped player in the form of Yash Dayal and has given him Rs 5 crore.
RCB has spent Rs 37 crore from its own purse on retained players for IPL 2025. BCCI had given a purse of Rs 120 crore to all the teams for the mega auction of IPL 2025, so now that RCB has spent Rs 37 crore on 3 players, out of the remaining Rs 83 crore, the franchise will have to buy at least 15 players. More purchases will have to be made, in which if media reports are to be believed, the franchise has saved an amount of Rs 30 crore for Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.
