Brad Haddin has warned the Indian batters ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. He mentioned that the visiting players will not be able to face the Australian fast bowlers on lively tracks. He named Yashasvi Jaiswal the most vulnerable due to his inexperience with the conditions Down Under.
The first Test will be played on November 22 in Perth. “The Indian batters will not be able to stand up in front of Australian seamers. Jaiswal is a good player, but he hasn’t played in Australia before, and I am not sure whether he will be able to handle the bounce. Opening in Perth will be tough for him,” he said on LISTNR Sport Podcast.
In 26 innings of the World Test Championship, the left-handed batter has amassed 1407 runs, including two double hundreds against England.
Aaron Finch feels the same. “The top order will be demolished as both teams have good fast bowlers, and they will test the batters. The key batters would be Alex Carey and Rishabh Pant. Alex at No. 7 and Pant at No.6 will play a crucial role for their teams. Both are aggressive batters,” he said.
Rishabh scored 274 runs in five innings at an average of 68.50 during the Border Gavaskar Trophy in 2020-21 in Australia.
Carey has amassed 576 runs in 20 innings at an average of 32 in home matches.
