India have refused to play in Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The nation is in a fix as it can’t host the entire tournament in the country. According to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI), the International Cricket Council (ICC) is ready to host the tournament in a hybrid model, with India playing its matches in Dubai.

If India make it to the mega game, the final will also be played in the UAE. Even if a hybrid model is rolled out, the Pakistan Cricket Board will remain the host.

However, the apex body of Pakistan cricket is adamant about conducting the tournament in Pakistan and is not in favor of the Hybrid model.

The PTI report has further stated that the ICC could shift the Champions Trophy to South Africa if Pakistan don’t agree to the Hybrid Model.

The PCB is in talks with the Pakistani government before revealing its next move. In addition to taking legal action against the BCCI, the PCB could also stop playing against India in any ICC event.

The Men in Blue haven’t played in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup. India also refused to play the 2023 Asia Cup in the neighboring country, and their matches were shifted to Sri Lanka despite Pakistan being the host.

This is the first time Pakistan are hosting an ICC event since the 1996 ODI World Cup.
