India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is not thinking about the World Test Championship final. His only focus is on the upcoming five Test matches against Australia. The India National Cricket Team will have to beat the Aussies 4-0 to make it to the title shot game in England.

The 0-3 defeat against New Zealand has dented the Men in Blue’s chances, and they have a big task to achieve Down Under. With most of the batters and bowlers out of form, India is looking vulnerable before the big series.

Gambhir attended a pre-departure press conference in Mumbai and was grilled by the reporters. He was reminded about the scoreline India must achieve to play in the final for the third consecutive time. However, Gautam looked annoyed and didn’t like the question.

“Every series is important, and we are not looking at the WTC final. It is going to be a competitive series between two good teams, and we are not thinking about the past results,” he said.

The former player didn’t reveal any information on captain Rohit Sharma’s availability. Sharma is likely to miss the series opener due to personal reasons.

“BCCI will let you know about Rohit Sharma. Hopefully, he will be available. You will get an update before the start of the series,” he added.
