The Indian cricket team has left for Australia tour. Except captain Rohit Sharma, all the other players left Mumbai for Perth on Sunday and Monday for the Test series. Before the departure of Team India on Monday 11 November, coach Gautam Gambhir also held a press conference. Gambhir answered many questions in this conference, which also made headlines, but after this, a social media post of Gambhir went viral, due to which questions have been raised on him. In this post, Gambhir is promoting something which has been banned by BCCI.

Gambhir is promoting cryptocurrency

Before leaving for Perth from Mumbai on Monday, Gambhir posted a video on his ex's Instagram account. This post was about a company's advertisement, in which Gambhir himself was seen acting. As soon as Gambhir posted this video, while former cricketers like Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh started praising his acting, many users started raising questions on the Indian coach. The reason for this was the company for which Gambhir was advertising.

BCCI has banned

Actually this advertisement was of a cryptocurrency trading platform, through which investment is made in cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency does not have legality in India and most importantly, the Indian Board has banned the promotion of any company related to cryptocurrency. A few years ago, while releasing the tender for its sponsorship deal, the board had kept a clear condition that any company or firm related to cryptocurrency will not be eligible for sponsorship. Not only crypto, but there is also such a ban on any kind of betting companies.

Fans started raising questions

In such a situation, Indian cricket fans lodged a strong objection to Gambhir's advertisement of cryptocurrency platform and drew attention to this by posting screenshots of BCCI's old decision in the comments. However, it is important to know that BCCI has not made any such announcement publicly, which bans players from promoting cryptocurrency or companies related to it. In such a situation, Gambhir is not directly bound by the decision of BCCI. Still, if the Indian Board has banned deals with organizations related to a particular type of service or product, then shouldn't the same apply to the members associated with Team India as well? Everyone is asking this question.
