Delhi: Former Indian team opener and currently veteran cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has given a big statement about Rajasthan Royals (RR) star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. While giving important advice to the left-handed openers, he has said that they should play carefully against short pitch bowling, because left-handed bowlers can again trouble them by bowling the ball at this length.

46-year-old Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel, “My first player in focus is Yashasvi Jaiswal. My brother, it has been many matches now so score runs, the way you are getting out against left arm fast bowlers when they bowl short balls. “If they want to play Spencer Johnson or Joshua Little, you can get a left-arm fast bowler in this team.”

He further added, “So they can trouble you again by bowling short balls, so please play a little carefully because no one has talked about it yet and I am still saying that the performance in the first seven matches No question should be raised on this basis.”

Apart from this, the former opener also expressed his views regarding the availability of Jaiswal in the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup to be played in West Indies and America in June this year. He said, “In your place regarding the T20 World Cup, although people will say something, their job is to talk.”

Even Yashasvi Jaiswal's bat is silent in IPL 2024

For your information, let us tell you that in the current IPL edition, Yashasvi has not been able to play big innings yet. He has been able to score only 39 runs in four matches. In such a situation, T20 World Cup will be organized immediately after IPL, in which his name is being discussed in the team, but his form has become a matter of concern. Rajasthan Royals will play their next match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Wednesday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
