Former England captain Michael Vaughan picked his top three best Pakistan batters of all-time. However, there was no place for legendary Zaheer Abbas and Saeed Anwar, who were renowned for their exceptional batting.
For the number three slot, he went with the modern-day great Babar Azam. “My number three is Babar Azam. He just lost his place in the Test side but I am sure he will get it back. He is a world-class batter and averages 47 across formats. In one-day internationals, he is averaging nearly 57,” Michael Vaughan said on Fox Cricket.
Vaughan kept Inzamam-ul-Haq in second place. “My number two is the big fellow Inzy. He may get across all the formats. He didn’t like to run between the wickets but he didn’t need to as he can struck the ball out of the ground,” he added.
Javed Miandad secured the top position. “Javed Miandad is my number one player. What a player. He was always competitive. He was ferocious,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Australia by a margin of 2-1 in the three-match ODI series. Australia started the assignment with a two- wicket win while Pakistan registered a nine-wicket victory in the second ODI. Mohammad Rizwan’s side defeated the Aussies by 8 wickets in the series decider.
