The series between India and South Africa has started with a massive howler as the audio of the Kingsmead stadium in Durban malfunctioned during the Indian national anthem.
  During the pre-match national anthem singing, the Indian anthem was first and while playing the Jana Gana Mana, it went off suddenly. Moments after it turned on and then went off again. The stop-and-start happened twice and the Indian crowd in Durban got frustrated. The Indian players though didn't stop their singing and kept on singing without the music. As the Indian players just finished singing 'Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya He', the audio box was reset and the anthem restarted again. The baffled Indian players then sang the entire anthem again, much to the liking of the Indian fans present in Durban. It was a silly mistake from the stadium management and the technical glitch caused the issue, but Indian players saw the funny side of it. Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh had a grin on their face while singing the song again while captain Suryakumar Yadav was also all smiles. As the national anthem started to play again for the second time, Hardik was caught laughing and fans slammed the India all-rounder for his non chalant behavior. Fans not happy with Jana Gana Mana debacle The Indian fans back home was not happy with the technical glitch in Durban. Many felt disrespected and demanded an apology from the South African Cricket Board for their glaring mistake. Also, some fans ushered praise on the players and supporters for continuing their singing despite the audio issue. Despite the glitch at the start, India managed to secure a fantastic victory in Durban. South Africa won the Toss and captain Aiden Markram chose to bowl first. India's Sanju Samson was the star of the show with a fantastic century. Samson scored 107 runs as India posted 202 on the board. South Africa, in reply, were bamboozled by the spinners and got bundled out for just 141 runs. Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi managed three wickets each as the visitors took 1-0 lead to the four-match series.
