Latest News :- IPL mega auction will be held on 24th and 25th November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to player registration details that ended on November 4, 1,574 players registered their names for the auction. Surprisingly, James Anderson, who last played a T20 match in 2014, has also entered his name in the IPL auction. Instead, Ben Stokes, a player sought after by teams, has opted out of the IPL bid. James Anderson last played a T20 International match in 2009.
In such a situation, out of 1,574 registered players, 1,165 Indian players and 409 foreign players are included. According to the BCCI statement, 320 players are capped players who have played international matches, 1,224 are uncapped players who have played only domestic matches and 30 players are registered from Associate nations.

South Africa leads the list with 91 of the 409 foreign players registered for the auction. 76 players from Australia, 52 players from England. Number of players from other countries: Afghanistan 29, Bangladesh 13, Canada 4, Ireland 9, Italy 1, Netherlands 12, New Zealand 39, Scotland 2, Sri Lanka 29, UAE 1, USA 10, West Indies 33, Zimbabwe 8.
In this mega auction, owners of 10 teams can buy 204 players for up to Rs 641.5 crore. Out of these 204 player slots, 70 slots are for foreign players. At present, 10 teams have retained a total of 46 players. Its total cost is Rs 558.5 crore.
