Sanju Samson is not slowing down in international cricket. The 29-year-old scored his second consecutive hundred in T20Is. Playing in the first game of the three-match series against South Africa, the right-handed batter brought up his century in 47 balls, laced with nine sixes and seven fours.
Overall, he managed 107 off 50 deliveries, including ten sixes and seven fours. “It happened automatically and I didn’t do anything different. I was in the zone and went for my shots. It is important to be in a positive frame of mind and hit the balls which are meant to be hit.
“The bounce in Durban is different from what we experience in India. Their bowlers know these tracks and they bowled accordingly. Coming from India, our batters need some time to get use to the pitch,” Sanju Samson said on JioCinema.
Sanju was further asked about his form in the recent times. “I am enjoying my batting but it took a lot to reach this stage. I don’t want to get carried away and wants to focus on what is needed to keep this momentum going,” he added.
Samson’s effort and his partnerships with captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma took the team’s total to 202 in 20 overs.
He shared a 66-run partnership with SKY, who amassed 21 runs. Samon also added 77 runs with Tilak Varma for the third wicket. The left-handed batter managed 33 runs off 18 deliveries.
