In this context, when former cricketer Robin Uthappa was asked whether Hardik Pandya should be in the Test team or the T20 team, Uthappa said that it completely depends on Hardik. As an all-rounder, his fitness is important.”

Uthappa further said, “We know that Hardik has been performing well in white ball cricket for the last few years, but the challenge of Test cricket is different. He will get a chance to understand himself how much fitness he needs in Test cricket.”

He also said, “If Hardik plays Test cricket, he will know how much he can push himself. I definitely see a role for him in Test cricket, but it is for him to take this decision. He knows how much he can push his body and if he can do it, he will definitely do it.”
