Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan lauded former Indian captain MS Dhoni, calling him as his inspiration. In a recent interview, Sajid was asked about his leadership experience and the skipper who inspires him. He took Dhoni’s name.
MSD won three ICC titles as a captain – the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, the 2011 ODI World Cup in India and the 2013 Champions Trophy in England.
India also became the No.1 side in Test cricket under Dhoni’s captaincy.
“The best captain is MS Dhoni. He is cool, calm and successful captain,” Sajid Khan said.
Dhoni also led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles. He was recently retained by CSK as an uncapped player for IPL 2025.
Sajid Khan was sensational against England in the home Test series. After missing the opening Test in Multan, the 31-year-old played the next two matches. He took nine wickets in the second Test.
In the series decider, Sajid dismissed 10 batters as Pakistan won the series 2-1. He was named the Player of the Series for picking up 19 wickets in two contests.
