Former New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin is celebrating his 44th birthday today i.e. on 7th November. James Franklin, who started his international career in 2001, played for New Zealand till 2013. During this period, he made New Zealand win many matches in all three formats. James Franklin was also a part of IPL. But a few years ago James Franklin was embroiled in a big controversy. Actually, Team India's star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal had made a big revelation on James Franklin, which surprised the entire cricket world.
Yuzvendra Chahal had revealed in the year 2022 that when he was a part of Mumbai Indians, he was abused many times. Chahal had told that when he was a part of Mumbai Indians, a player had hanged him from the 15th floor. During this, Chahal had recalled an incident taking the names of Australia's Andrew Symonds and James Franklin. He had told that his 2011 Mumbai Indians teammates Franklin and Andrew Symonds had allegedly tied him up and left him overnight while celebrating the victory in the Champions League final.
Yuzvendra Chahal had told, 'This incident happened in 2011 when Mumbai Indians won the Champions League. We were in Chennai. Andrew Symonds drank too much fruit juice. I don't know what he was thinking but he and James Franklin together tied my hands and legs and said that now you open them and show me. He was so drunk that he taped my mouth and completely forgot about me during the party. The party ended and in the morning when a sweeper came, he saw me and rescued me. He asked how long had I been here like this and I told him, 'Since the night'.
James Franklin played 31 Tests, 110 ODIs and 38 T20 matches for the New Zealand team. In the Test, James Franklin scored 808 runs with the help of 2 half-centuries and 1 century. Apart from this, he also took 82 wickets in the test. James Franklin has 1270 runs in his name in ODI, along with this he also took 81 wickets. James Franklin also took 20 wickets with 463 runs in T20. Apart from this, James Franklin played a total of 20 matches for Mumbai team in IPL. Franklin was a part of Mumbai Indians from 2011 to 2013.
