Delhi: After the embarrassing defeat in the three-match Test series against New Zealand, the Indian cricket team is now on South Africa tour. Suryakumar Yadav is in command of the team on this tour, where India has to play a series of four T20 matches. This series will start from 8th November and the first match will be played at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban. Team India is the current T20 world champion. He won the title by defeating South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup final of the same year.
In this way, both the teams will face each other for the first time after the final of the T20 World Cup. In such a situation, the green jersey team would like to avenge the defeat on its home ground. However, this challenge will not be easy for Team India.
The pitch of Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban has been very beneficial for fast bowlers. On the pitch here, bowlers get extra bounce along with speed. However, in recent times the pitch has become somewhat flat, making it difficult for bowlers to stop runs and making matches high-scoring.
A total of 22 T20 International matches have been played at Kingsmead Stadium so far, in which the team batting first has won 11 times, while the team bowling first has won 9 times. In such a situation, the decision of the toss will be important here and the team winning the toss will probably want to bat first.
The average score of the first innings at Kingsmead is 153 runs, while the average score of the second innings is only 135 runs. The highest score on this ground is 226 runs, which was made by Australia, while the minimum score is 73 runs, which was made by Kenya. Only the target of 191 runs has been successfully chased on this ground, hence a score of 200 runs can be considered strong for victory here.
The first match of the four-match T20 series between India and South Africa will be played in Durban on 8 November, while the remaining three matches will be held on 10, 13 and 15 November. According to Indian time, the first, third and fourth matches of these matches will start at 8:30 pm, while the second match will start at 7:30 pm. Live telecast of the series can be seen on Sports 18 Network and Jio Cinema.
