New Delhi: Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad on Monday advocated the inclusion of Shivam Dubey and Rinku Singh in the playing eleven for the T20 World Cup to be held in June. Dubey has been one of the best performers for Chennai Super Kings this IPL season. He has scored runs at a strike-rate of over 160. Dubey’s contribution could prove invaluable in spin-friendly conditions in the West Indies.
Along with him, left-handed explosive batsman Rinku has made a strong claim to be included in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be held in America and Caribbean countries. “Shivam Dubey for his ability to play big shots against spinners, Surya (Kumar Yadav) for being the best T20 international batsman and Rinku Singh for his exceptional finishing ability,” Prasad wrote on
He said, “It would be great if India finds a way to include these three in the playing eleven in the T20 World Cup. Due to the presence of Virat (Kohli) and Rohit (Sharma) in the team, there will be space left for only one wicketkeeper batsman after these five. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.” These things of Prasad would mean that it would be very difficult for all-rounder Hardik Pandya to be a part of the playing eleven.
