Rinku Singh was recently retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2025. His retention price is INR 13 crore and the young batter fulfilled his dream of buying a house after his contract was extended by franchise. A picture of the left-handed batter getting the keys to his new house alongside his family members has gone viral on social media.
Rinku is now a proud owner of a lavish bungalow in Aligarh. The southpaw was Kolkata’s top retention, with spinner Varun Chakravarthy (INR 12 crore), Sunil Narine (INR 12 crore), Andre Russell (INR 12 crore) and Ramandeep Singh (INR 4 crore) being the other retained players.
Rinku joined the three-time champions in 2018 at his base price of INR 50 lakh. He was not given enough chances in the first few years but has become a regular member of playing XI since 2023. His finishing abilities have won several games for the Knight Riders and the rivals don’t take him for granted.
In 14 games, Rinku scored 474 runs at an average of 59.25 and a strike-rate of 149.52 in 2023. He amassed four half-centuries. He hit five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal to lead KKR to a win over Gujarat Titans.
Rinku is also a key member of Team India in the shortest format of the game. However, he was not included in Team India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
