There will be retention before the start of IPL 2025 and then there will be an auction of players. But, there are reports floating around about what the franchises think about some players. One such player is Mayank Yadav, about whom news came quoting Telegraph that he has got injured again. It cannot be said at the moment for how long he will stay away from cricket this time. But, his distance from cricket affected Team India. Also this question is left whether LSG will still remain firm on its intention regarding him?
There are reports that Lucknow Super Giants i.e. LSG may retain Mayank Yadav. LSG had bought Mayank Yadav for Rs 20 lakh. But, now that he has become a capped player after debuting in the T20 series against Bangladesh, if LSG retains him, then crores of rupees will have to be spent. According to reports, LSG can retain Mayank Yadav for Rs 12 crores. But, after the news of injury again, will the LSG franchise implement its plan?
It is expected that Mayank Yadav will be fit before the start of IPL 2025. As Mayank's personal coach Devendra Sharma has also told that the injury is not new. He has simply been advised rest due to an old injury and will return for the series against England in January 2025. But, the big challenge is whether Mayank will be able to maintain his fitness? If fitness remains intact then LSG will not lose Rs 12 crore. But if you are not able to keep it then you will be left with regrets.
Mayank has earlier recovered from side strain and stomach injury. According to the BCCI official, he is currently complaining of back pain. There may be a stress fracture. At present, he is being monitored in NCA. Of course it is too early to say anything right now. But, it can be expected that he will be seen playing in the fourth or fifth round of Ranji Trophy. As the personal coach told that if he will be able to return from the series against England, then it means that he will stay away from cricket for at least 3 months.
