Melbourne. Cricket Australia (CA) has included Sophie Molineux in its central contract list after a successful comeback in all formats of the game.

Molineux, who was dropped from the list two years ago, has played Tests, ODIs and T20Is in the last two months after a long spell out due to various injuries, most recently an ACL tear. This appearance was enough for him to be included in the 2024-25 central contract list. Molineux made his Test return against South Africa in Perth. He was named player of the series in the T20 against Bangladesh, which concluded last week. In the T-20 series against Bangladesh, he took six wickets at an average of 8.33.
Earlier in the tour, on his return to the ODI team, he had taken 3 wickets for 10 runs. He replaced the experienced Jess Jonassen in the team, but Jonassen, who has not been in the team since the India tour last December, has retained his contract. Retired Meg Lanning is the only player left off last year’s list. National selector Shawn Flagler said in a statement: “We are really pleased to be able to offer Sophie a contract following her successful return to the team this summer. She has worked hard to regain full fitness and will be looking forward to the next “Will play an important role in the summer.”
