In the final of ACC Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, Afghanistan A defeated Sri Lanka A by 7 wickets and captured the title. Bilal Sami and Sediqullah Atal gave match-winning performances for Afghanistan A.
Sri Lanka A, batting first, scored 133 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sahan Arachige scored the most runs for the team. He played an unbeaten half-century of 64 runs with the help of 6 fours in 47 balls. Nimesh Vimukti contributed 23 runs in 19 balls with the help of one four and one six.
Arachige and Nimesh added 42(32) runs for the sixth wicket. Pawan Rathnayake scored 20 runs in 21 balls with the help of one six. Arachige and Pawan made a partnership of 50 (46) runs for the 5th wicket. Bilal Sami took maximum 3 wickets for Afghanistan A. Allah Ghazanfar managed to take 2 wickets.
Afghanistan A team, chasing the target, won the match by losing 3 wickets and scoring 134 runs in 18.1 overs. Sediqullah Atal played a half-century inning of 55* runs in 55 balls with the help of 3 fours. Karim Janat played an inning of 33 runs in 27 balls with the help of 3 sixes. Atal and Janat added 52 (52) runs for the third wicket. Captain Darwish Rasooli contributed 24 runs in 20 balls with the help of 2 fours and a six. Atal and Rasooli made a partnership of 43 (37) runs for the second wicket.
