The Commonwealth Games Federation has confirmed that the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games will be held in Scotland from July 23 to August 2, 2026, returning to the city 12 years after the hugely successful 2014 Commonwealth Games. Glasgow 2026 will feature a program of 10 sports focused on four venues along an eight-mile corridor.

The sports program includes athletics and para athletics (track and field), swimming and para swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling and para track cycling, netball, weightlifting and para powerlifting, boxing, judo, bowls and para bowls, and 3×3 basketball and 3×3 wheelchair. It will feature approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth countries and territories, representing 2.5 billion people – a third of the world's population. The sports program also includes six para sports.
