In the current era, T20 cricket has become very popular. Wherever you look, T20 series and T20 league matches keep going on. In this race of T20 cricket, ODI cricket is lagging behind. But now to make ODI cricket exciting and to breathe new life into it, the ICC Cricket Committee has planned a revolutionary change. The ICC Cricket Committee meeting held in Dubai has recommended changing a rule in ODI cricket which will bring a big change in this format. Sourav Ganguly, Mahela Jayawardene, VVS Laxman, Shaun Pollock, Daniel Vettori, Roger Harper and Jay Shah were present in this cricket committee of ICC and these veterans have proposed to keep 2 new balls for only 25 overs in ODIs.

Bowlers will get a lease of life in ODI

The ICC committee advised that two new balls should be used in ODIs only for the first 25 overs. After that only one ball should be used. At present, two new balls are used from both ends for 50 overs. It is being said that the bowlers have suffered a lot due to the use of two balls in ODIs. Due to there being two new balls till 50 overs, it becomes easier for the batsmen to play big shots. The ICC committee has sent this recommendation to all the captains. This will be implemented only after the consent of the captains. If there is a rule of using two balls only for 25 overs, then bowlers will also come into play in ODIs. They will get reverse swing and leg spinners will also make a big contribution in the game.

Major changes recommended in the World Test Championship also

The ICC Cricket Committee has recommended that now there should be a 3-Test series in the next World Test Championship cycle. South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka mostly play only two-match Test series. Only India, England and Australia play big Test series. These things will not promote Test cricket. The ICC committee also talked about promoting day night test. Only in Australia is the Pink Ball Test played continuously; BCCI has not conducted the Pink Ball Test for the last two years. ICC believes that the Pink Ball Test will attract more people to the stadium. The Pink Test held in India had more spectators.
