Mumbai's famous Khar Gymkhana Club has made serious allegations against Ivan, father of Team India's star female cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues. Khar Gymkhana, one of the oldest clubs in the city, has claimed that the Indian cricketer's father was using the space there to carry out religious activities. He was working there to convert people. The club took cognizance of this matter and took action against Jemima and canceled her membership with immediate effect. At present no statement has come out from Jemima's side on this matter.

What did the club say about the matter?

Khar Gymkhana Club in its annual meeting decided to cancel Jemima's membership. Club President Vivek Devnani has also confirmed the action taken against the Indian cricketer. According to the report of Indian Express, he was given honorary membership for 3 years. This action was taken by passing a resolution after a consensus was reached in the meeting. Club's Managing Committee member Shiv Malhotra revealed regarding this matter that Jemima's father Ivan was associated with an organization named Brother Manuel Ministries.

Jemima's father had booked the Presidency Hall for about one and a half years. During this period, he organized 35 events and did many religious activities including religious conversion. He further said, 'We hear about religious conversions happening across the country. But this work was being done right under our noses. Shiv Malhotra also revealed that as per the rules of Gymkhana, no religious activities are allowed in the club.
