The Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Tamil Nadu (TN) at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium ended in a draw. The hosts managed to avoid defeat on the final day of the contest, while Tamil Nadu fell short by just two wickets of a win.

Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini is in the news for faking an injury. In the fading light, he scored an unbeaten 15 runs in 64 balls. A rival bowler delivered a bouncer to Saini, which brushed his helmet without any damage. The 31-year-old signaled to his batting partner that he was fine and was good to continue batting.

However, a few seconds later, he fell to the ground. The replays indicated that he was faking an injury to waste time to help Delhi draw the game.

The umpires declared bad light after the incident, meaning Tamil Nadu received 3 points based on the first-innings lead. Delhi also received one point. The visitors would have received seven points had they won the contest by an innings. An outright win earns a team six points, while a victory by an innings or a 10-wicket win is awarded a bonus point.

Tamil Nadu posted 674, with the help of a double hundred by Sai Sudharsan, while Washington Sundar and Ranjan Paul slammed tons in the first innings. In reply, Delhi were bowled out for 266, with Yash Dhull scoring a century. At stumps on Day 4, Delhi were 193/8 in their second innings after following on.
