Gautam Gambhir: Ever since World Cup winning former player Gautam Gambhir became the head coach of Team India, he has continuously given opportunities to young and new talent in the team. Due to which the youth have got a chance to show their abilities. Since Gambhir became the coach, new talents are continuously joining the team.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir had said that now it will be very difficult for senior players to make a place in the team.

It seems that Team India's new coach Gautam Gambhir wants to create a young team which will have the courage to win all the tournaments with new enthusiasm and talent. Gambhir believes that it is important to have youth in the team. He does not want to give place to any player in the team because of his name. He believes in performing and making a place in the team. He is completely against favouritism.

Due to which the careers of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane seem to be ending. Gambhir will give place in the team only to those who are in form and will continue to perform consistently. He had made this clear as soon as he became the coach. Pujara and Rahane have played mostly Test cricket and both players have played very few international T20 matches.

Cheteshwar Pujara's cricket career

Cheteshwar Pujara has played 103 test matches for the team, in which he has 7195 runs in his name. Also, he has played ten ODI matches, in which he has scored only 51 runs at an average of ten. He has played more first class cricket than international cricket. In which he has 20915 runs in his name in 272 matches.

Ajinkya Rahane's cricket career

Right-handed opener batsman Ajinkya Rahane has also played a lot of cricket in his career. He has played 85 test matches for India, in which he has scored 5077 runs. He has also played ODI and T20 matches, in which he has scored 2962 and 375 runs respectively. Rahane's best average has been in first class cricket. He has played 193 matches in which he has scored 13574 runs at an average of 45.39.
