Team India collapsed for just 46 runs in the first innings against New Zealand in Bengaluru. On the Bengaluru pitch where runs are scored, 5 batsmen of the team could not even open their account. The accounts of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Jadeja, Ashwin and Sarfaraz Khan were not opened. New Zealand's two fast bowlers Matt Henry and William O'Rourke together forced the formidable batsmen of Team India to kneel. Henry took 5 wickets while O'Rourke, playing his first Test in India, took 4 wickets. After being reduced to such a low score against New Zealand, five such records were registered in the name of Team India which no other team in the world would want in its name.

Team India made 5 shameful records

Team India has become the lowest scoring team in the Indian subcontinent. 38 years ago, West Indies team was all out for just 53 runs against Pakistan in Faisalabad and now this unwanted record has become in the name of Team India.

This has also become the lowest score of any team on Indian soil. In the Mumbai Test in 2021, the New Zealand team was all out for 62 against India but now the same team bowled out India for 46.

46 runs is also the smallest score of Team India on Indian soil. In the year 1987, Team India had scored 75 runs against West Indies.

Rohit's decision proved wrong

After 78 years, this has happened in Test cricket that a team has won the toss and elected to bat first and has been reduced to such a low score. Earlier in the year 1946, New Zealand had won the toss and elected to bat first in the Wellington Test and Australia had bowled it out for 42 runs.

5 batsmen of Team India could not open their account in Bengaluru Test. After 25 years, five batsmen of the Indian team have returned to the pavilion without opening their account. Team India had seen such a day only against New Zealand in 1999. Not only this, this is the first time that four out of the top 7 batsmen of Team India have not been able to open their account in the home test.
