The weather in India these days seems to be unhappy with Team India and New Zealand. Only rain seems to be interfering in the test matches of both the teams. Just a few days ago, rain had ruined 3 days of the test match played between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. Before that, the match between New Zealand and Afghanistan in Greater Noida was canceled without even starting. Now both these teams are clashing with each other and its beginning has also been lost due to rain. The very first day of the Test series between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru was washed out due to rain. Now an attempt will be made to start the game on the second day and for this the time has also been changed and it will start 15 minutes earlier.

First day wasted, now match will start soon

The first match of the series was to start from Wednesday 16th October at M Chinnaswamy Stadium but there was forecast of rain from the beginning. It was raining even a day before and there is a possibility of rain on all 5 days of the match. This prediction proved correct on the first day and due to sometimes heavy and sometimes light rain, conditions were not created to dry the field and start the match. Due to this, there was not even a toss in the match and the day's play was canceled at around 2.30 pm.

Now it is hoped that rain will not become a hindrance on the second day and the match will be able to start. BCCI said in a tweet that everything will start 15 minutes before the scheduled time on the second day in the morning. That means the toss will take place at 8.45 instead of 9.00 and then the match will start at 9.15 instead of 9.30. This is being done so that a small part of the 90 overs of play that was wasted on the first day can be compensated. Similarly, if the weather remains clear throughout the day, then the day's play can be extended beyond the scheduled time, so that maximum overs can be bowled.

How will the weather be the next day?

As far as the weather is concerned, there is no forecast of rain on the second day i.e. Thursday 17th October in the morning. This is not likely to happen till at least 10 o'clock. There is a possibility of 30 to 40 percent rain intermittently after 10 o'clock. In such a situation, if play starts on the second day, there may be interruptions from time to time. However, if this rain does not happen continuously like on Wednesday, then cricket action can still be seen.
