My desire is to play test cricket for India. Before the Duleep Trophy, the leadership group had told me that they were considering me for red-ball cricket and asked me to take it seriously and play as many Ranji Trophy matches as possible.

Sanju Samson further said, 'This time my preparation was good. After the series against Sri Lanka, I trained with Rahul Dravid sir and Zubin Bharucha at the RR Academy and worked on my game. The century in the Duleep Trophy has given me a lot of confidence because it came against some of the best bowlers in the country.

Sanju Samson was a flop in the last season of Ranji Trophy. He could score only 177 runs in 4 matches at an average of 35.40. In such a situation, Sanju Samson would like to improve his game in red ball cricket this time. However, he left his mark in the Duleep Trophy during the Test series against Bangladesh.
