Delhi: The first match of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru from October 16. Just before the match, the Kiwi team has suffered a big blow, where their fast bowler Ben Sears has got injured. Sears suffered pain in his left knee during practice during the recent Test series against Sri Lanka, after which he was scanned in New Zealand.
After the injury was confirmed in the scan, he has been ruled out of the India tour on medical advice. New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) gave this information and said that the initial hope was that Sears would recover soon, but it did not happen.
Duffy replaced Sears.
Jacob Duffy has been included in the team in place of Sears. Jacob has played ODI and T20 matches for New Zealand, but he has not yet got a chance to debut in Test cricket. He can make his test debut in this series. 30-year-old Duffy has experience of more than 100 first class matches, in which he has taken 299 wickets. Now it will be interesting to see how his performance is in the series against India.
