During the last season of IPL, the rule of Impact Player was in a lot of controversies. Many big players had given statements against this rule. However, this rule will continue in the next season of the Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a big decision. BCCI has decided to remove the impact player rule from a domestic tournament. Let us tell you, this is the same tournament from where BCCI started the rule of Impact Player.

BCCI removed the impact player rule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has removed the Impact Player rule from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Syed Mushtaq Ali is going to start from 23rd November and will be played till 15th December. The BCCI has confirmed the decision on the impact player rule through a message to the state association. BCCI said, 'Please note that BCCI has decided to remove the provision of Impact Player for the current season.' At the same time, recently BCCI informed the IPL franchises that this rule will be retained for the upcoming season of IPL.

The rule started with Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy itself.

The Impact Player rule was first used in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After this it was entered in IPL 2023. Under this rule, during the match, any one player from the playing-11 can be dropped and a new player can be included in his place. That means a team can use 12 players. According to the Impact Player rule, after the toss, both the teams have to name impact players apart from their playing eleven, one of whom they want to use as an impact player. This player can join the playing 11 in place of any player at any time in the match.
